Hamumu Clubhouse

HamChat

The HamChat.

The HamChat was introduced with Hamumu Clubhouse. It was the replacement for the many other chats Hamumu has had over time, coded completely by Jamul. It is now defunct and no longer active, everything has moved on to the quasi-unofficial LoonyChat on Discord.

Basic Usage[]

HamChat appeared at the bottom of every page on Hamumu.com, and upon logging in to your Hamumu account remained persistent across all pages. The chat didn't operate correctly with multiple pages open or on the forums due to the forum having its own set of integrations and presumably PHP code.

Chatting was achieved by typing in the box at the bottom and pressing [Enter]. There was a limit of 100 characters per chat message.

If you clicked on users' avatars at the top, you got options to visit their Dumb Pages, or chat to them privately. This second option opened up a new chat tab, where your messages were only seen by the person you privately chatted with. You could switch between any number of private chats and the main HamChat by clicking on the tab names.

There were chat 'commands' that you could have used, which changed how your message appeared - see Commands below.

Clicking on the purple speaker icon in the top-right corner of HamChat to stopped it playing sounds.

When the new Flash Player was introduced, the chat logged you out with the message "Sign in to your Dumb Account to chat!" if the chat was not on screen for a few seconds. The same thing happened with older versions of Flash, just not as often.

Commands[]

Other than just talking, there were various commands you could have done.

/help[]

Displayed the three available commands, and what they did.

/me[]

The /me command made the chat say "Username [your text here]".

/roll[]

The /roll command let you roll a die. You could only roll a die with sides of up to one million. (1,000,000)
