The Chinese Take-Out item in Dr. Lunatic increases the player's life by one of seven possible amounts when picked up. The possible effects are, from least life restored to most life restored:
- Ick, mostly veggies - Restores 1 life
- Just fried rice - Restores 5 life
- Hmm, tastes kind of citrusy - Restores 15 life
- Joy! Wontons! - Restores 20 life
- Mmm, Kung Pao! or Moo Shi Beef! - Restores 25 life
- General Tsao has outdone himself - Restores 40 life
- Szechwan Shredded Pork!! - Restores 50 life
Note that the amount of restored health will be doubled if the player plays on Normal difficulty in Dr. Lunatic Supreme With Cheese.

The red symbol on the Chinese Take-Out box means metal, gold or money.
